Which Came First- The Vegetation or the Man?

Here’s a question to consider:

According to Genesis 1:11-30, the Lord created the vegetation, plants, trees, etc on the third day. Genesis 1:26 says that God created man on the sixth day.

But Genesis 2:5-9 says that the Lord created man before there was vegetation. So, which came first- the vegetation or the man?

There is a reasonable explanation… discuss.

  1. I understand the passage to read that God created the garden, the fish of the sea, the birds of the air, and the beasts, cattle and every creeping thing that moves over the earth, and then he formed man and PUT him in the garden. Thus, vegetation preceded man.

  2. not much discussion ever developed here. i guess that just means the bible contradicts itself and we should all follow george carlin or bow down to bill mahr.

  3. Ben, I know you are not a Ron Paul fan per se but you should grab a copy of his new book. Very interesting when it is all laid out and reveals a lot about the facts of what he would like America to accomplish. Also, check out: [youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uNwXSuL2CnY&hl=en]
