I just picked up and have begun reading a biography on Charles Haddon Spurgeon by Iain H. Murray:
“Spurgeon v. Hyper-Calvinism: The Battle for Gospel Preaching.” Murray reminds us from a quote by Spurgeon that doctrine without usefulness is no prize. Our doctrine must influence how we not only BELIEVE, but also how we BEHAVE:
“You may look down with contempt on some who do not know so much as you, and yet they may have twice your holiness and be doing more service to God.”
I’ll blog some thoughts, quotes, observations from the book as well as from the 15 other books I’m currently reading. As soon as I can figure out how to build this blog “good and done for” then I’ll have a spot for my current readings.
