Interpreting the Historical Books (Handbooks for Old Testament Exegesis)

Dr. Robert Chisholm of Dallas Seminary has a new book out. Let’s just say that I’m pumped/stoked/thrilled/salivating/etc,etc. This will be my next purchace or what I ask Santa for tomorrow when we take the kids to see him at the mall. Picture me convincing Jamin {our five year old} to tell Santa that this book is what he really wants for Christmas. Oh, the benefits of parenting!

Here’s a book description:

This valuable reference tool for students and pastors explores the components of the narrative genre–setting, characterization, and plot–and then develops the major theological themes in each of the Old Testament historical books.
